About RUF

Reformed University Ministries grew out of the passion of young, Presbyterian ministers in the southeastern United States in the late 1970's.

In the late 1970's the Presbyterian Church in American (PCA) commissioned Reformed University Ministries under the leadership of Rev. Mark Lowery to coordinate a campus movement that stood in line with the great, foundational truths of the Reformation and functioned under the oversight of ordained campus ministers and their regional bodies.

Since that time, Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) has spread to more than 100 campuses across the country and has grown to include well over 200 full time staff.

The purpose of RUF is to build a community on the college campus that reaches students of divergent beliefs and doubts with the message of the gospel and equips them to love and serve Jesus and his church. As we shape our lives around the gospel we have the opportunity to participate in God's work of changing lives, healing our world, building community, and renewing our culture. We aim to do this by pursuing the following goals: growth in grace; evangelism and missions; fellowship and service; and, biblical world and life view.
